Refund Policy

Custom work is built for one business, so refunds work differently than returning a product. Here's exactly how it works, in plain terms, before you pay anything.
The short version

| Before design work begins | Your 50% deposit is refunded in full. |
| After design work begins | The 50% deposit is non-refundable. It covers the time already reserved and spent on your project. You don't owe the remaining balance. |
| After launch | No refunds. Defects in our work reported within 30 days of launch are fixed free. |
When “design work begins”
Design work begins when we send you written confirmation that your project has started (usually the same day we receive your deposit and kickoff info). Until you get that email, you can cancel for a full refund.
Final payment
The remaining 50% is due at launch, before the site goes live or files are transferred. You'll review the finished site before paying, and we'll fix anything that doesn't match the agreed scope first.
The 30-day fix guarantee
For 30 days after launch, we fix at no charge:
- Anything that doesn't work as described in your quote (broken links, forms, layouts).
- Display problems on current versions of major browsers and phones.
- Errors in content we wrote.
It doesn't cover new pages or features, changes in direction, problems caused by edits made by someone else, or third-party service outages. Those are quoted separately.
Third-party costs
Money paid to other companies on your behalf, such as domain registration, paid plugins, stock images or software subscriptions, is non-refundable by us once purchased. Those costs are listed in your quote before you pay.
How to cancel or request a refund
Email contact@pixelsmith.org with your name and project. We'll confirm within 2 business days, and any refund you're owed is sent to your original payment method within 10 business days.
